Dial-Up Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 This agreement is between “YOU” (The customer) and “US” or “WE” (Connect Internet Services). Dial-up access ("the Service") will be provided
to you subject to terms and conditions of this agreement.
1.2 This agreement begins when we receive a signed application and continues until it is terminated by you or us.
2. To get connected
2.1 You must have a computer with a configured modem and a telephone line. If you are living in a remote area, call our toll free number 0800-
331-6677 for further information on service availability. For technical assistance please visit our Support Website: www.connect.com.fj.
2.2 The telephone line to your home is designed mainly for voice transmission. This line will be used for transmitting data to and from your
computer but there is no guarantee that it will be suitable for the kinds of data you want to send or receive.
3. The Plans
3.1 There is a minimum stay of one month on your plan.
3.2 Your plan incurs a one-off cost of $33 to be paid at the time of registration along with a deposit of one month rental for Plus5+5 and Plus15
packages ONLY. This will be held until you terminate your account and may be used for debt recovery. Your first bill will show your first
month’s usage which will be calculated on a pro rata basis including any charges for excess usage.
3.3 Depending on connection links the maximum speed of up to 56kbps can be expected.

4.1 Monthly rental - $13.30 for 10 hours 5.1 Monthly fee - $25.70 for 15 hours

6.1 Monthly fee - $38.55 for 25 hours 7.1 Monthly fee - $44.00 for Unlimited

8. Installation
8.1 If you need us to install internet at your home there is a fee of $48.00 but if you would like to bring your computer to our offices for installation,
the installation fee is $20.45. If you are able to install internet yourself, configuration details are available on www.connect.com.fj, but please
note, any technical assistance AFTER your self-installation carries a fee of $56.00
9. Transfer
9.1 If you transfer between packages, your new monthly fee will apply from the beginning of that particular calendar month.
9.2 You may make two (2) free transfers per year
10. Your responsibility
10.1 You assume all responsibility for usage of the service through your account and for keeping your password confidential.
10.2 You are responsible for the cost of telephone calls to the number of the dial-in location you select.
10.3 You are responsible for equipment and software needed to access the Service.
10.4 You use the service at your own risk. We are not liable for loss or damage that you may suffer as a result of using this service including any
damage to or loss of data caused by a virus or similar program.
10.5 You acknowledge that some material on the Internet may be offensive or unsuitable and that Connect does not accept any responsibility for
unsolicited email passing through the Service.
10.6 You are responsible for any minor or any other person with access to the Service using your account and are under your personal supervision.
10.7 Only one person is permitted to login using your account at any one time.
10.8 You will not use the Service to send any information to another person which may be offensive, abusive, indecent, obscene, or menacing
including any message or other information which causes annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.
10.9 You will not use the Service to obtain unauthorized access to any information, network or systems or to compromise the security or integrity of
any network or system including any part of the Telecom Fiji Ltd network.
10.10 You acknowledge that it is illegal to use the Internet for reselling Voice services. Any reselling of Voice services may result in Connect Internet
Services terminating your account and initiating legal proceedings.
11. Our Responsibilities
11.1 We provide you with the Service, an account identity and password for you to gain access to the Service and notify you of any changes to this
agreement.
11.2 We will use our best endeavour to maintain the continuity of the Service, although we do not guarantee it will be continuous or fault-free.
11.3 We are responsible for fixing faults in our host computers. The responsibilities of fixing faults in other parts of the Telecom Fiji network are set
out in the Terms of Use of Telecom Fiji Limited services.
11.4 The telephone line to your premises has been designed for voice calls, data speed is not guaranteed and we shall not accept any liability for any
disruptions to the service that is beyond our control.
12. What we may do
12.1 Delete any e-mail message if the size exceeds 2 megabytes or if all your undeleted messages including attachments exceed 8 megabytes.
12.2 We may delete any e-mail message read or unread if the message has not been deleted within 90 calendar days of it becoming available to you.
12.3 If we delete any message under the terms of this agreement we are not required to notify you or the sender of the message(s).
12.4 We recommend you download your e-mail on a regular basis to avoid possible loss of data.
12.5 We may disclose some of your information at an aggregate level for marketing purposes provided you cannot be personally identified from this
aggregate data. We may use information about you for internal planning or product development purposes but we cannot disclose this
information to third parties unless you consent to such disclosure or if we are legally required to disclose.
12.6 We may log you off the Service temporarily if you are connected but not actively using the Service for any period exceeding 10minutes.
12.7 Upon 7 days notice to you, we reserve the right to modify any part of this Agreement at our sole discretion including the Rates, the Billing Terms
and the Procedures for Payment. This Agreement incorporates by reference all Rules and Notices which are either posted on the Service or
notified to you directly from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after such notice will constitute acceptance of the variation.
12.8 Some Plans have additional terms and conditions, which you must also comply with.
13. Termination of this Agreement
13.1 We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement, suspend or terminate access to the Service at sole discretion without liability or prior notice to
you.
13.2 You may terminate this Agreement at any time on 48 hours written notice to us. You will remain liable for any charges you incur up to the
effective date of termination. No refund of fees, including monthly access fee, will be granted and no on-line time credited to your account will
be redeemable to cash or any other form of credit.
13.3 Ending this agreement does not affect the provisions regarding indemnity and, limitation of liability.
13.4 You agree to pay a cancellation fee (50% of the setup fee) if you cancel or alter this order before the service has been rendered.
14. Charges and Billing Procedures
14.1 All plans have different rates.
14.2 Bills are issued monthly and will include any other or excess usage charges.
14.3 Your account will be suspended if charges are not paid. There is a reconnection fee if account is suspended for non-payment.
14.4 If your usage reaches a high-level, we may request immediate payment.
14.5 We may review our charges from time to time and you will be advised of any changes. We will also put this and any other notices of any change
on our website.
14.6 We will charge you interest if you do not pay a bill by the due date. You will be required to pay any costs we incur in recovering monies owed to
us.
14.7 Unused hours cannot be accumulated, and no refunds will be given for unused hours. Each connection will be rounded up to the nearest
minute.
14.8 First month usage will be on a pro rata basis depending on the date of connection.
15. General
15.1 Any notices or messages from Connect Internet Services will be made by post or e-mail.
15.2 This Agreement is constructed in according to the laws of The Republic of the Fiji Islands.
15.3 This Agreement represents your understanding and agreement with regards to the supply of internet service by Connect Internet Services
15.4 You also agree to other user policies posted on our website.
16. Exclusion of Liability and Indemnities
16.1 You agree to indemnify and hold us unaccountable from all liabilities, damages, claims, actions, proceedings and expenses, including all legal
fees and expenses, arising out of the use of the Service or your breach of any term of this Agreement in any way.
17. Additional Services
17.1 Anti-Spam
We provide Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus as an additional service
17.2 Additional Mailboxes
You may subscribe to more than one additional mailbox. There is an annual fee for additional mailboxes which will recur on the anniversary of
your account. You must advise us if you wish to unsubscribe or close any of your mailboxes.
The following conditions apply:
• NON FIJI CITIZENS: Are required to pay a deposit of $300 which will be held in trust for the duration of your contract.
• Students: Will be required to pay a deposit of $100 and provide evidence stating your visa status
