What is Broadband?
Broadband is a high-speed connection to the Internet, which utilizes the latest technologies. This service is ideal for small to medium businesses allowing users' speeds from up to 128kbps to 2Mbps. Connect have ADSL and wireless connections. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) uses everyday copper phone lines to deliver broadband Internet at super fast speeds. A wireless connection is radio technology. A centrally located base station communicates with customer premises equipment (CPE). CPE consists of an outdoor antenna and an indoor unit that terminates in an Ethernet port. (Note: Wireless antennas are no longer available but we do still have customers on this technology)
| Who uses Broadband? | Anyone with an ADSL programmed line who is seeking high speed internet and want a connection 24/7 without having the burden of extra charges. |
| Speeds | Range from 128kbps to 2048kbps. Speeds are not guaranteed and varies depending on the location of the connection and the condition of the lines. |
| Charges | There is no dial up charge for every login made to the internet. Excess charges are only charged if customer chooses to pay for extra usage. This is decided at time of sign up. |
| Set up | Installation of ADSL Unit and splitter at customer premises and configuration of all settings is done by the Contracter contacted by Telecom Fiji. Rare cases this can be done by the customer by him/herself with a step by step guide or over the phone by a Connect Technician. Setup Fee is $99.00. |

| Availability of Service | Within 5km from all exchanges in major cities and towns except for outer islands. Any location outside these areas will have to be tested before service can be provided. |

As of 1st May 2007, all data cap allowances were DOUBLED on ALL Broadband packages. This means that our valued customers can now download twice as much information as in the past for the same price.
